Lemon Poppyseed Scones (made with our Lemon Poppyseed Scone Mix) have their own fan club. Like our other buttermilk scones, these bake up with a crusty exterior shell and a light and tender interior crumb. Flavored with dried Meyer Lemon Peel (and you can add more fresh lemon zest if you desire) and crunchy poppyseed, they have a delicate and fresh lemon flavor. We recommend glazing the your Lemon Poppyseed Scones with a blend of confectioner’s sugar and lemon juice, which you can brush on while they are still warm from the oven.

To make the dough you will add butter and buttermilk, along with some fresh lemon juice. Once the dough is made, you can freeze the dough as individual, pre-cut, ready-to-bake scones. When you want to bake scones, first preheat your oven. When it is up to temperature, take your dough out of the freezer. Place the frozen scones on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and bake. It only adds 3-4 minutes to the total baking time.
